What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?

The six digits that make up the VIN code are a sequential serial number that is unique to the car or truck. The last digit of VIN code is also known as the check-digit. The rest of the numbers have been converted into numbers. For example, the first digit gets an eight value; then each subsequent digit increases by one until it reaches nine at seventh digit, and then transforms into two. Then, the entire VIN is converted back to its original form by multiplying each digit's weight by 11. If the result is same as the check number then the VIN is valid.
